As December begins, the very first thing that comes to the minds of Vampire Diaries fans is, the birthday of their most loved star Ian Somerhalder.
Needless to mention, he was born on 8th December.
Like always, you all must had planned different ways to wish the actor, or decided on to give him a birthday present as well.
Right!
But there Somerhalder made a little change in the way he wanted to celebrate his special day.
He was simply pleading his fans, to not to send him anything on his birthday.
Surprised? Don’t be, as the actor has had a really wise reason behind that.
No doubt! Somerhalder really loves the way each, and every fan wishes him on his birthday, and sends him variety of stuffs, from scrapbooks to jewelry, goodies, books, and many more.
But, at the same time he has some real concern, related to the environment we live in.
The actor wanted to convey that the every kind of gift that people send him, carries along with it, a more or less of anti-ecological substance that effects our ecology in one way or the other. Be it the manufacturing of the product, or the packaging or shipping, it contains something or other environment-unfriendly.
And, that is why he opposed any such move by fans.
But, at the same time, he kept an option open for his fans, and that was the alternative of donation, to his organization, Ian Somerhalder Foundation . This organization works towards empowering and educating people, so as to bring a sort of positivity on the planet, and its creatures.
He also said that it would be the best gift that he could possibly imagine to receive.
And you know what? The actor did send a personal email to those devoted activist, who supported Ian Somerhalder Foundation.
Ahh! That sounds really great!
I believe we should never stop to watch the episodes of Vampire Diaries, and continue to follow the star, either through your televisions, or online portals, for he’s simply amazing.
